My research group focuses on understanding the relationships between variation in genotypes, phenotypes, and evolutionary fitness. We are particularly interested in the process that shape variation in genetically complex traits and the risk of developing complex diseases and disorders. A major theme is our interest in understanding the role of natural selection in governing this diversity. We are also interested in the social implications of human genetics research, and the responsible use of genetic information. Our work is computational and theoretical, and spans the range from data analysis to pure mathematical theory.
